Trekking is one of those adventure activities that require participants to have a lot of patience and energy. This is especially true for trekking trips that last for several days such as the Pindari Glacier trek. However, despite its exhaustive nature, trekking can be quite refreshing and enjoyable if the participants follow the basic rules and love the company of nature. In addition they need to be aware of some other basic yet vital information listed below, to fully enjoy the trek to the famous Himalayan glacier.

Availability of Mobile Network: Most people today rely heavy on mobile devices to remain connected to the world and hope to do the same while enjoying the Pindari trek. However, the participants need to understand that while they would be able to get a strong signal from all service providers till Bageshwar, the base camp of the trek, the signal gradually becomes weaker as they proceed towards Loharkhet. From that point onwards, only BSNL users can catch the signal and that too becomes possible only for a few hours a day after reaching Kharkiya and Khati. However, in case of emergencies, satellite phone can used to make calls.

Availability Of Accommodation: Participants must make sure that they carry along a warm sleeping bag to be used in locations where they might have to camp out at night. Generally locations such as Loharkhet, Dwali, Phurkiya and Khati have lodges and forest huts where the participants can put up for the night. However, it is important to confirm the availability of these accommodations during the proposed trip  trekking in india  time, with the local guide in order to avoid any last minute hassles.

Availability Of Transport: For people who do not want to undertake the complete trek to Pindari glacier, finding local transport to their convenient starting point might be a bit difficult. While they can take a shared jeep from Bhageshwar to Song ad from Song to Loharkhet, finding transport for the onward journey is really difficult and hence proper arrangements for the same should be made well in advance.

Availability Of Electricity: Absence of electricity in regions past Bhageshwar should not surprise the participants. However, the local people in Loharkhet, Kharkiya, Khati and other campsites rely on solar energy to generate electricity for operation of things of necessity. Participants can also get their mobiles, cameras and batteries recharged at a price during their stay at such campsites. However, it is important to understand that this expense is not included in the estimated Pindari glacier trek cost offered by most tour operators.
